We are using around 8-9 bags a fortnight at the moment at our coldest. Obviously less when its not so cold. We turn ours off when we go to bed and back on of a morning. If no one is home during the day we switch off also and back on when the first person arrives back home. If we are home all day and its cold it stays on all day. I just adjust the temperature accordingly to how cold it is. Love the heat compared to our heat pump in our last house and cost is similar

I've had my Matilda pellet heater for 15 months now so I have had one winter with it. I have been pleasantly surprised with my pellet use, having only used just over three quarters of a pallet so far. The heat is great but the best thing is that I don't have to chop wood (no yucky spiders) and the heat is lovely. I would recommend a pellet heater to anyone, but especially those in my age group who find stacking and chopping wood a bit beyond them these days. The staff at Pellet Fires Tasmania are great too.
